The new type of missile weighing 100 ton was designed to replace R-26M2 missile Voyevoda, which by NATO nicknamed “Satan” (SS-18 Satan), because it can carry 10 nuclear warheads, each independently powered 550-750 kilotons of TNT explosive.

“Statistically, (missile development) this takes 10 years. If a country is not doing it for 30 years, of course, many difficulties will be inevitable,” said Andrei Goryaev, Deputy Director of the Russian missile maker, who was assigned to develop new missiles this, NPO Mashinostroyeniya, Tuesday (08/05/2012).
